Thanks to the Ministry of Education and ECO-INVESTMENT a.s. financial support the football academy will have been created next to the primary school Klačno in Ružomberok by 2019.
Ružomberok is well experienced with young sportsmen raising, especially in football and basketball in which high scores are reached for long. Many football players like Žofčák, Sapara, Kucka or Jendrišek grew up in Liptov. These players represented our country in a youth and senior national team. There are the most talented players not only from Liptov but also from Orava, Turiec, Banská Bystrica or East Slovakia. „ Long-term experiences form youth football have been showing us how necessary the connection between the club and school in the field of sport preparation and education is. High-quality primary and high school system with sport classes is the way which opens young people the door to success “said MFK Ružomberok manager Ľubomír Golis.
The main intention of football academy development has been to create the space for sport and non sport youth activity in the whole attraction zone of the northern Slovakia. First-quality football infrastructure, modern accommodation facilities, instructional rooms, first-rate or high quality coach supervision are a guarantee for the sound development of youngsters who will be the good example for their neighbourhood.
Despite the fact that many top-rated football players have been raised in Ružomberok, infrastructure is still the problem. It is namely insufficient number of pitches which are inadequate for high-class training process.
Within the bounds of the project the football pitch with artificial grass FIFA PRO certificate will arise. The planned size is 100 x 55 meters, athletic sector will be added. Accommodation and educational centre for sportsmen, coaches and terraces will be part of it.
Within the Ministry of education budget for 2017, 1,5 mil. Euro will be set aside for this purpose. Milan Fiľos´ ECO – INVESTMENT a.s. will financially participate on the implementation of this project. This company has been supporting football in Ružomberok for a long time. 30 mil EURO have been invested into the activities and running.
„We know how to raise first-class sportsmen; the evidence is that Ružomberok is in the 3rd Preliminary of European league 2017/2018, in which it will be facing extremely attractive opponent FC Everton. Without the adequate financial support, the achievement of such success would never be possible“ concluded Club manager Golis.
